I want Grahn’s Upholstery to provide quality upholstery for many more years, and that is why I sold the shop to Amy Otteson. The shop will retain its name and location, and Dale Simon, hired by Al Grahn in the 1990s, will stay on as lead upholsterer.
Amy began studying upholstery and upholstering furniture about five years ago. She’s looking forward to having Dale as both a valued employee and mentor. Two of her current mentors, Cynthia Bleskachek, highly respected upholsterer and upholstery instructor, and Steve Cone, former vocational upholstery teacher, author of upholstery instruction books and shop owner, will guide and assist her.
Amy is a fine artist and helps her husband with home design and remodeling. She is a former art educator and owner and designer of a nationally distributed hand-painted wallpaper and fabric company. She has a BFA in illustration from the College of Visual Arts, a BS in art education from University of Wisconsin River Falls and an MS in education from Winona State University.
Thank you for your business and support the past four years.
